Our Mission

The Carroll County String Project, a non-profit community music school, aspires to improve the quality of life in Carroll County by:

  1. Providing the highest quality music instruction at affordable prices to anyone with a desire to learn regardless of income or aptitude;
  2. Giving pre-school children the musical elements that stimulate their brains and thereby improve their ability to learn other subjects;
  3. Introducing early elementary school children to instrumental music while their bodies are still optimally flexible and their inborn abilities maximally trainable;
  4. Augmenting public and home-school music programs by offering string instrument classes not available elsewhere;
  5. Encouraging adults to participate in music making;
  6. Helping Carroll County music students of all ages take their place amongst Maryland’s best musicians.
